Just a Thought – What an evolving adventure to recognize Christ in the house (𝘪𝘯 𝘶𝘴), the hope of glory; 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 has the potential to introduce us to opportunities that keep us expanding toward & living from perfection (𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘨𝘦) in all facets of day-to-day life becoming mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Pondering “in the house”, can’t we relate to Martha’s joy in welcoming Jesus (His disciples with Him) into her home? And making Himself comfortable, can’t we identify with Mary’s desire to sit at His feet & maximize this moment, in time? 

Absolutely, we can! And no doubt the atmosphere had to be filled with a sense of wonder at the weight of His Words, together in His Presence. 

However, “in the house” Martha’s excitement turns into frustration & she finds herself isolated trying to serve, while Mary chooses to position her heart to see what He is saying; seated, committed, & hungering for more, apparently unbothered. 

• Mary, “𝗵𝗼𝘄” did you sit quietly at His Walk, giving your attention to His Words?
• Mary, “𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁” kept your focus on hearing, learning, & understanding with a longing to apply Wisdom?
• Mary, “𝘄𝗵𝘆” could you intentionally seek His face as though there are no interruptions, distractions, or problems around you?

Seemingly relevant questions. If we had the opportunity to talk with Mary, maybe she would reiterate that prioritizing who & what matters enables us to focus on what truly counts in & for life. Perhaps we would discover or rediscover the art of being still to give attention to, catch inner Truth & embrace changes that cause us to grow; personally & collectively. 

Therefore, our willingness to remain watchful of His Proceeding Conversations 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 is indeed conceivable & achievable! 

Their particular conversation conveys a beautiful picture of Grace & Hope in knowing both of them love Jesus & delighted He is “in the house.” Yet in moments of 𝘧𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 & 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, it is noteworthy, that Jesus is unquestionably there. 

How many times have we felt discouraged due to frustration, despite having a willing heart to serve Him, knowing that He is present with & in us?

Sometimes, our tendency to complain like Martha can distract us from being still, listening, & remaining seated in His presence, to hear beyond the noise of life, like Mary. 

As we witness Mary & Martha in the presence of Jesus, Mary is fully immersed & attentive to what Jesus is saying. On the other hand, Martha exhibits signs of agitation, as she becomes emotionally overwhelmed & proceeds to interrupt Jesus, demanding that he instructs Mary to assist her with the tasks at hand.

Yet Mary, a beacon of light teaches us that 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 to seek first His Kingdom, as a priority with intentionality, to walk by faith, not sight, & still, remain seated! 

Doesn’t it make us think of Jesus saying, “𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙮 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙗𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙 (𝙍𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙖) 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧?” Meaning we can do life together unmoved, strong & effective by Proceeding Rhema! 

What captivating imagery, in that 𝘏𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘶𝘴 & 𝘏𝘦’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘶𝘴, finding out from Mary who continues to listen, not moving nor saying a word in her defense even in difficult circumstances. 

Like her, our confidence builds to become or come into being who & what we behold! 

As we continue to open our hearts, we set ourselves to stay seated to respond to the Presence of His Word with corresponding actions even with others around us, particularly those of the household of faith; “together in the house.” 

And let’s be honest, it takes labor to enter into His kind of rest to remain in the Presence of the Spirit-Word when the Martha in us tries to unseat us. 

Jesus said, “𝙈𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙖, (𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨), 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙚. 𝙃𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧, 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙, 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙗𝙮 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 & 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚, & 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙝𝙚𝙧.”

𝘞𝘰𝘸! 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 & 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘍𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘩𝘰𝘮 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩! 

Let’s hold to courage from Jesus’ words to Martha & learn to appreciate the significance of stillness, which transcends earthly thoughts. 

Let’s remember that only one thing is truly necessary & Mary within us can choose the best part, which will not be taken away! 

In simply being present in these God-moments, we can cultivate insight & wisdom. Ah! To be partakers of His divine nature on earth as heaven is, life abundance; multifaceted! 

So much insight can be gained by exploring the diverse perspectives in this passage. However, there is a group with Jesus, Martha, & Mary that caught my attention; “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴.”

His disciples witnessed contrasting responses of Martha & Mary during their interaction with Jesus. 

Despite their differing approaches, it was evident that both sisters shared a deep love for Jesus & were honored to be in His presence. This encounter must have had a profound impact on the disciples, inspiring them to meet others where they are to strive for greater heights. 

Imagine the scene: Mary is sitting at His feet & Martha starts out serving yet ends up complaining; two distinct heart attitudes. Yet the Prince of Peace knows both of them & meets them where they are as He speaks in such a way that all hearts & minds “in the house” are transforming; a tremendous trajectory shift witnessed by & eventually, one could think, a teaching moment for His disciples path forward. 

Seeing from an inner attitude of prayer + doing a deep dive within & ultimately, as we walk with others, we find ourselves course correcting with Martha, quietly leaning in with Mary, & seeing with new eyes with the disciples through the lens of the 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 being reminded of identity & progressing purpose.

Let us embrace the journey in truth with open hearts & minds, allowing ourselves to be guided toward a life of abundant resurgence by His divine Power that He knew of us before the foundation of the world. Facets of truth, for example: 

• Jesus said as Father sent me, so I send you
• as I am, so are you in this world
• but you seek first the kingdom of God even His righteousness
• living epistles written with the ink of Spirit/Life
• ambassadors with the message of at-one-ment/reconciliation
• old things are passed away; behold all things new, (new creation) 
• roots/fruit of Spirit Life out of new covenant

With Martha & Mary, we can see a snapshot of the capacity in combining bitter & sweet spices (𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴) as the Lord instructed in Exodus chapter 30. And then when hin of oil is added to the compound, something transpires, in earth as heaven. It’s an embodiment of how, as disciples, we have His DNA to connect with people from all walks of life; significant steps. 

It’s in these moments that the anointing of Holy Spirit is experienced, demonstrating the manifold wisdom of His Power Who lives within us all. With utmost confidence, we can certainly notice that He has given “us” all things that pertain to life, Christ in us, Hope of Glory. 

What faith, hope, & love, we an receive the Art of the Apothecary Who unlocks our full potential in the pouring of oil. What expectancy in trust as we move, as we live, & as we have our being in knowing we are His offspring!  𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 (𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥, 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵; His Whole House. (1𝘴𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 6:17, 𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘴 17:28, 𝘌𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 2, 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 2). 

Jesus, our Apothecary, perfects all things through careful “compounding” that concerns us (𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 & 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺), revealing how good & pleasant it is to dwell together in unity. It is like pecious oil poured on the head, running down the beard (𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲) even to the border, consecrating the whole body. Conceivably, whoever then touches the hem of His border, suddenly is made whole. 

Ephesians 4: Paul said, 𝙄 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙[𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨, 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙝𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧, 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙗𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙧–𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣], 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 [𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨], 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 [𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡], 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣[𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙨𝙝] 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚. 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚 [𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡]. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 [𝙤𝙛 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨] 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩–𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 [𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣] 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙧𝙙, 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝, 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙢, 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙞𝙨 [𝙨𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙣] 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 [𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜] 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙[𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜] 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙡𝙡.
